Festivals in Thailand


When the weather is cooling down and makes body shiver, its the great time to celebrate and enjoy the festive season in Thailand. Every festival, may it be Christmas day or New Year party, every single person gets in the mood of celebrations.

River Kwai Bridge Week

The famous River Kwai Bridge was built by the allied prisoners of war during World War second. Every year this spot becomes the important point of celebrations. The occasion is marked with archaeological exhibition, a carnival, folk and cultural performances, rides on World War second classic trains and magnificent nightly fireworks and sound presentations, re-enacting the world war second history.

Silk and Phuk Seow Festival

Thailand is famed for the fine quality of silk. Each year in Khon Kaen, a major silk producing region, Silk and Phuk Seow festival is celebrated to promote the silk weaving and sericulture. The festival lasts for ten days during which visitors can enjoy the colorful street procession and numerous exhibitions on silk industry. Visitors can purchase varieties of silk made products.

International Balloon Festival

Visitors enjoy this colorful and exciting event that showcases the hot air balloon from all over the world, including the USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Malaysia. The event demonstrates that Thailand has a wonderful weather, supporting balloon flying and the country is more than a sunny beaches. The foreign spectators enjoys the live concerts, Farmers fair, Fun Games/Races, Fireworks, Horse Shows, Dog Shows, Cowboy Shows, Marching band and the Musical Balloon Glow.

The Mekong River of faiths – Christmas Celebrations

During the eve of Christmas, sparkling Star Procession is held at Tha Rae. Christian community assemble in the Wat Song Khon, the beautiful Roman Catholic Church in Nakhon Phanom.
